My Title Page for Project LIfe

I loved making this title page for my  Project Life album. I used the teeny tiny pictures that come when you order prints from Shutterfly or Snapfish, I thought they were perfect for a layout highlighting the things we do in a year. I wish that I could have included more of them.I am having so much fun discovering the joys of paper scrapping again! I have been mostly digital for a few years. I think I will try to do both more often. Aidan is getting bigger and lets me have more computer time since he occupies himself with the bazillion toys we have in the family room now! I guess there are good things about babies getting older and more independent, except I wish sometimes they would stay little. I am off to scrapbook!

I have not blogged in such a long time. I have had problems with my computer and have that fixed now. I have to share this picture of me with a humongous carrot I grew in my garden. We had several that just went wild and were so big I am not sure they will be good to eat!I have really enjoyed my garden this year. We got a ton of tomatoes. We gave a ton away as well. They sure taste so much better than store bought ones. I will miss them now that the weather is colder and I cannot cover the tomatoes to keep them from freezing. I am already thinking about next year and what ones we will plant again!

Rhodes Family Summer Manifesto 2012

I am having the best time making our Summer Manifesto 2012 book. I am so glad Ali Edwards came up with this idea. We came up almost 60 things to do this summer! I am posting these first few pages here on my blog. I will have to show you how they look after I print them and put them in a book!

Rainbow!

It hardly ever rains here in Idaho Falls but I did manage to get this cool shot of a full half circle rainbow the one time it did rain enough to produce a rainbow. It was amazing!

With shadows or without?

                                              Without Shadows
                                               With Shadows

I cannot decide which I like and need some input. With or Without? I like the depth but am I shadowing appropriately? I need to look up some tutorials I think but I would love any comments letting me know which you like better. Thanks!

Project Life Layouts week 8 2012

I got week 8 done! I now have 6 more weeks to do. I tried something different this week. I did not use a template and shrank my pictures done more than I really like but I think it worked. I am hoping to find more time to scrap individual stories as well as get the weeks done. I know I need to get my year in review of 2004 done so I can order my Shutterfly book. Then on to 2003! I love looking back at past years. IT reminds me of how far we have some as a family. Tons of changes seem to happen every year. I have to mention if you have not noticed I am so addicted to memory keeping. I really like the shopping aspect of it too. Kip has told me that I cannot buy anything for a while. I need to find something that brings in a little money so I can support my scrapbook shopping addiction! There are always cool new kits coming out that I have to have because I have the perfect pictures to go with the kit!!! :) Anyway I am having fun and it is therapy for me so that is what I am going with when Kip says do not buy anything else!

More Project Life Layouts

I was able to finish another week of Project Life. I tend to focus more on the photos than anything else. I do add journaling but I take more than one photo a day so I feel like I need to include them all. I used Valorie Wibbens Pockets and Jen Barrette's kit for this two page layout from February. WE had alot going on with Jakob and Aliyah's birthdays. The both had friend parties. Caleb performed in his drama class play. He was really amazing. (I am not saying that just because I am his mom). We made crafts for Valentine's. I had a friend bring over dinner one day that I felt awful. How grateful I am for Sister Hansen listening to the Spirit and acting on His prompting to help me! Life is so much better with friends and family!

Project Life Layouts

                                              week 1 2012

                                            week 2 2012

                                               week 3 2012
                                             week 4 2012

I am having fun with Project Life this year! I am excited to take pictures especially because I have a new baby to document. He is so fun to have. He is amazing to watch grow up. I cannot believe how much I have forgotten just in the few years it has been since Brevan was a baby. It really is the little moments that bring me happiness each day. I am grateful to have a camera and the purpose to document these moments. I know looking back on these times wil bring me great joy and immense pleasure in the future. They will teach me to savor whatever it is that life brings me. I am praying that nothing horrible happens everyday. I feel enough of the horrible has happened to me and I would like to have a very long break from tragedy in my life. I want my family to be safe and happy enough. I want them to be able to learn yes but hopefully from things that do not bring heartbreak into their lives. It is a hard task master.  I am putting my faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to help us live with the Spirit so that we may learn and be safer.

I am hoping this year to keep caught up with my layouts every week. I am behind already but I will keep taking pictures and getting them scrapped. I will get caught up and ake more time to document and have fun scrapping our life!

Aliyah Playing Basketball

Kip Aidan and Jakob enjoying Aliyah's game!
Lyndsey having fun with the ball.
Aliyah is doing much better than I thought. I am so proud of her for trying something new. She is having so much fun playing. It is funny how girly she can be and yet so tough at times. I am having a ton of fun as well. I am not a fan of professional sports so I was not sure how I would enjoy watching her. As it happens, I am right there screaming right along with the other parents when she does well and yelling advice to the players! I know it is all in good fun so I make sure to cheer for everyone. It is hard to see her team get beaten every week, but it is good to see her play and learn life is not always about winning but doing. I hope she learns the value of hard work and practice. Those are the things that are truly important!

Aidan is 4 months old!

It does not seem like four months have passed by but Aidan is 4 months old today. He is such a wonderful little bubba! He is happy most of the time and such a sweet heart. He likes to smile at us and has a funny high pitched laugh. I am so happy to have him! It has been hard work but when it is fun it is worth it! I am now feeling better by taking more of my medication. That makes life so much more pleasant and less overwhelming. I especailly feel for all of you dealing with depression as well. My prayers are with you! Aidan also rolled over for the first time today. I was surprised when he was on his tummy and just rolled onto his back. He does not get alot of tummy time because everyone picks him up when he even fusses just a little bit. I keep telling them mainly Lyndsey to leave him alone because he is fine and will never learn to crawl. I do not think she believes me because she picks him up anyway. He is still mostly bald and it does not look like he will grow hair anytime soon. I am looking forward to the next four months and especially taking more pictures of him!
