Vera Lim Blog Blitz

 I am so excited to show you my layout made with Vera's wonderful kit! Here is the kit I used!
                Wild & Beautiful is a “gorgeous and stunning pastel colored kit!” It includes 10 papers and 34 elements (available as colored and shadowed versions – 63 total elements) I was provided a copy this kit by Vera Lim, a guest designer at Oscraps.com. This review was not influenced by a free kit - just in case you (or the FTC) were worried about this detail.

                              Here is my layout! Hope you love it! I love how all the elements worked so perfectly
                                  together. I had so much fun using it and designing my page!This was the first time  I have used a kit by Vera Lim. I am loving the preshadowed elements because that is the part I always dread. I know I will scrap with this kit again. I am already imagining how to use it with other photos I have that need this color kit!

Happy Birthday to Brevan!

Happy 2nd Birthday Brevan! Brevan had an awesome party with the family today! He is currently into trains and Toy Story. I had to get this Thomas train cake because they do not have Chuggington yet. That is his favorite TV show. He was so tired because he would not take a nap after church. I woke him up after just about a 30 min nap. He ate dinner then we opened his presents and had birthday cake. He loved the presents but was not too into the cake. The girls especially were interested in what he got because they wanted to play with his toys too! They ened up opening just two of them before we came home and played with the other kids. I am so happy he had a wonderful time!

I had to post these photos I found of Lyndsey back in 2005. She is just over a year old! I think she is just adorable. Her fat little cheeks. To look at her now you would never think she used to be a chunky monkey! Oh how time flies too fast! She is now 6 and so grown up in her opinion. I must remember to savor every moment with all of my children. They will be grown and having children of their own before I know it.

Lyndsey's Birthday

We went to the Tauphaus Park Zoo for Lyndsey's birthday. She had the best time seeing all of the animals again! She was really excited to show Brevan the animals. He was happy to point to them all and got excited when any came close to the glass. I think the funniest thing was a baby penguin that came to Jakob. He held out his hand to the penguin and it came right up to him  begging for food! It did this really weird head shake and noise. He got really close but we told him that he could not touch it of course. They bite really hard! Brevan was mesmerized by the tiger! He sat there and watched it for as long as we stayed by the pen. I was able to get a picture of the kids on the tiger except for Jakob, he is too cool for those kinds of photos now he said! Funny boy, hope he gets over being older soon! We had fun being together and talking about the animals. I took the kids to Wendys because it was 40 cent night. Kip and I had Bajios again! I love being with my family and especially love doing things with the kids, I am not ready for school to start. There are still so many things we want to go do together! They have a week then school starts! So sad!

Oregon Adventure

We had the best time in Oregon. We had to stop at least once an hour for Brevan to get out of the van and run around! He traveled very well considering he is 19 months old! We stopped at this rest stop just inside Oregon and had lunch! Brevan was so excited to run around and wanted to help Kip with whatever he was doing!

I made a mistake about which road to take after going thru Sisters. It turned out to be a great mistake. We had the best vantage point to see the caldera. It was amazing!

Our first morning at the beach everyone threw on the bathing suits except Kip Brevan and I, too cold for our us, and headed to the beach! The kids had a blast runnning around picking up treasures and digging in the sand. Brevan really wanted to get in the water and at first we tried to preven thim, but soon realized he was determined to get wet. we finally headed to the showers to get ready for the day and head to the aquarium after Brevan dove head first into the water. He had enough when he got to cold!Caleb loved finding gross things to look at!Aliyah collected every shell she could find.Brevan loved picking things up and throwing them.The boys had to dig a hole that got filled back in when a sneaker wave came up to high!We had fun at the aqaurium touching things and seeing things we had only seen on TV before! I will post more photos later.

Here we are in the van going up to Mack's Inn. It was hard enough with Brevan to drive up there. The dvd player really helped but I do not know what we are thinking to drive all the way to the Oregon coast with him!  I hope that he does well and is happy most of the time. It will be worth the pain because we have so many fun things planned for Oregon. I am especially looking forward to petting baby tigers again! I am planning on taking lots of pit stops so he can get out to play and stretch his legs! He is so funny and so cute! I do not think I have mentioned how grateful I am that we got pregnant with him on my blog! He makes life fun and full! On another note Caleb is at Scout camp. I thought it was bad tha Jakob went for three days. Caleb is going to be gone a whole six days. It is so hard to have them gone. It is not a welcome break for me. I lvoe having my children around no matter how loud or crazy they get. Which they get pretty loud and crazy seeing that Kip and I are their parents how could they not be! I will be so glad for Caleb to get home and then we will be off to Oregon for a week or so. I am looking forward to the change of scenery. We have not really gone much of anywhere since I got pregnant with Brevan. I do not have awesome pregnancies so usually do not like to travel while pregnant. I am so excited and will definitely post pictures of Oregon on here. I just hope that all goes well getting there etc. Until next time! Melissa

fourth of july layout

Here is my layout of our 4th of July! I used a template from Katie Pertiet and the fourth freebie from Sara schmutz!

The coolest rainbow I have ever seen. It was a full half circle and doubled! The photos do not do it justice! It was such a rainy day and then all of a sudden this huge rainbow pops out. We had to go outside to get a better look and the kids thought it was amazing. It made me feel good just watching it. Knowing that Heavenly Father's work is a marvel to behold!

13 years

Wanted to share some layouts about Leda again. Today she has been gone for 13 years, sometimes feels like yesterday. We all still think about her everyday. We miss her so much. The kids especially wonder what it would be like to have an older sister here. I am grateful for the time we had and wish it had been longer. We all look forward to seeing her again and being with her. I have made sure that her memory has been kept alive. Love you Leda.
